Ontario Town Board. 2/27/23

 Supervisor Frank Robusto opened the Town of Ontario regular meeting which was held at the Ontario Town Hall. All Board members were present.  The Board accepted the January 2023 Supervisor’s Report which is available upon request from the Town Clerk’s Office.

 After the second reading of the Water Utilities Financial Policy and Department Procurement Policy, the Board adopted the policy as presented. After the second reading of Section 700 – Compensation, the Board adopted Section 700 as presented. After the second reading of Section 800 – Employee Benefits, the Board tabled the policy to revise it. 

 The replacement of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) distilled water apparatus from Millipore Sigma was approved for an amount of $12,656.88.  

 The Town Clerk was authorized to post and publish the legal notice for a Public Hearing on March 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM for comments and questions related to the Town Wide Watershed Drainage Benefit Area. The bid for the Kenyon Rd. Bridge over Bear Creek was awarded to C. P. Ward, Inc. for $497,882.12.  The Board accepted the quote from F.W. Construction Corporation for ADA Compliant Bathrooms at Town Hall for $140,282.97 as presented and required stamped plans by a licensed professional Engineer or Architect.  

 The Supervisor was authorized to sign a no cost time extension to Blue Heron Construction, HMI Mechanical Systems, Inc, and Concord Electric Corporation for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) MRB Project.     

 A RAM 5500 from the Water Utilities Department was declared as surplus and sold to Wayne CSD for $2,500.00.  

 The Supervisor of the Town of Ontario was authorized to sign all documents necessary to complete the transfer of property from Dorothy Beh to the Town of Ontario located at 6374 Dean Parkway, Ontario, New York (Tax ID#61117-00-268863) and effectuate the recording of the deed to said premises. The Supervisor o was also authorized to disburse the sum of $11,121.57 for the purchase price for the property, plus recording fees of $374.00, for a total of $11,495.57 to the attorneys for the Town of Ontario for reimbursement of the recording fees and transmittal of the proceeds of closing to the attorneys for the seller. 

Girl Scouts Adeline Kelsch, Kaylee Randall and Madison Knapp were recognized for the makeover given to the Brown Square Senior Site. The work consisted of building storage spaces and developing the area into an inviting place for social exchange and companionship among the residents of Brown Square and their guests. 

The Town Board acknowledged the lawsuit of Mr. Riddell with respect to the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). 

Amy Church was appointed as the new Justice Clerk, effective February 27, 2023, at a rate of $19.07 per hour with benefits, as recommended by the Justices. 

The Board accepted the resignation of Debra DeMinck as Town Clerk effective March 31, 2023 and the Board appointed Shelley LaRocca as Town Clerk at a rate of $68,435.00 effective April 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023, with any unused vacation to be paid to her. The bills were paid as audited. The Board entered  into Executive Session at 8:34 PM for a personnel matter and potential litigation. The Board reconvened at 8:58 PM and the meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
