Lyons Girls Varisty Basektball Wins Title

Top-seeded Lyons defeated Pembroke 50-36 Saturday night in the Class C2 finals in the Section 5 Girls Basketball Tournament. Tournament MVP Abbie Shields had 17 points for the Lions, who improve to 15-5. All-tournament pick Taniqua Johnson had a game-high 18 points for Lyons. Breanna Johnson had 11 points for Pembroke (15-6) in earning all-tournament honors.
