Okay, so President Biden won the 2020 election, probably because so many real Americans hated the Trumpster, not because they thought Biden was a great asset, just better than the alternative.
With high hopes, the ‘Build Back Better” theme was off to a promising future. But, from the very beginning, Biden fell into numerous political traps.
First - promising a strong and quick reaction to the COVID epidemic. That fell short when, like it was expected, COVID hit the virus changing themes and continued to spread in various off-shoots. The Biden administration also failed to plan ahead, like many European countries, by adding massive testing sites and supplying free test kits and better masks for the public.
Adding to the confusion, mixed messages, the media was willing to point out in a nanosecond, by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
The media, not always settled on CDC messages, also employed a host of ‘specialists’, doctors and medical centers for their own input and suggestions for COVID. Mix that with dubious social media posts and confusion galore seeded doubt.
Biden’s administration tried to focus on the un-vaccinated, but failed to take control of the continual spread with variations. Then came omicron.
The second mistake Biden made was settling for Kamala Harris for vice president. Boasted as an all-encompassing African American, first Asian American, and first female occupant of the office, Harris fell flat from the beginning and a talking sockpuppet for Biden’s pre-speeches and too often there’s a lack of appeal. She has zero chance of ever becoming President and Party members know it.
Biden policies have usually been off the cuff and he is far from making friends among the media.
Biden made things worse by failing to hold media cherished ‘Press Conferences’ and media availability.
Perhaps the biggest faux pas from the beginning was the idea that, with a one seat advantage in held party seats, things like Build Back Better framework would easily breeze through both houses within months of taking over the White House.
Biden failed miserably by attempting to balance the progressive far left, middle roaders and more conservative Democrats in a buy one/get one plan for infrastructure and his overall far left social plans.
By attempting to quash the likes of Bernie Sanders, Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and a number of others, the pie in the sky progressive agenda, along with an astronomical price tag, quickly turned off right-center Democrats. By attempting to shove it down the congress and senate throats by coupling it with the massive infrastructure bill, turned out to be a disaster. He also failed miserably in reaching out to Republicans.
Bottom line, Biden, as the Democrat leader (?) failed in both the moves to improve and the public’s eye.
Yes, he was hampered by COVID, world-wide inflation and a host of other outside sources, but simply has no answers and dubious moves in his first year.
Can Biden recover in year two of his administration? Anything is possible, but Biden will be hampered by members of his own party, along with the posing mid-term elections.
If Biden loses control of either, or both house in 2022, game over.
Biden also has the lowest poll ratings of any Presidential predecessor...except Trump.
Of course, no Republican is exactly reachingacross the aisle to make an attempt at political reconciliation, mainly due to Republicans being wimps. Too bad both Dems and Reps are still at the stage of holding on to office, or power, over U.S. interests.
Trump, was internationally hated and considered a joke by most countries, but Biden has failed to marshal more than polite acceptance. Those oft publicized long distance meetings over massive TV screens with foreign leaders is also falling way short in the voters mind.
Democrats changing rules such as the number of Supreme Court positions, or doing away with the filibuster have also been a disaster.
Both the Democrats and Republicans are already lining up candidates for potential power grabs. The real moves would be to forget both Biden and Trump and attemp to find real leadership...if only possible.
