The Council on Alcoholism and Addictions of the Finger Lakes and its Board of Directors announce the hiring of the new Executive Director, Timothy M. VanDamme. Nelson Acquilano, the previous director of 30 years, has retired after being the only Executive Director for the Council. Mr. VanDamme is a local graduate from Midlakes High School and received his undergraduate degree from Keuka College. He recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management also from Keuka College. After honorably serving in the United States Navy his career in the Not for Profit organizations began 25 years ago.
Timothy brings experience working in various settings across the lifespan while holding leadership positions for the past 23 years. He is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor with experience in Day Treatment, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Housing and Employment services. In addition to professional involvement in grassroots organizations, he has worked with Youth in Non Secure Detention, Residential Treatment Centers, Residential Treatment Facilities, and Community Centers.
Tim VanDamme and his wife, Jessica, have six children. Three older boys that are 21, 18, 14, and eighteen month old triplets, one boy and two girls. Tim also volunteers his time by giving back to the community through his involvement with youth baseball and football for several years. Currently he is a football coach for Midlakes Varsity Football, his high school Alma Mata.
