Congratulations to Rochester Regional Health’s Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH) Women’s Care Unit Nurse Manager, Cindy Witter, RNC, MSN, who received the DAISY Leadership Award this morning for exhibiting extraordinary nursing leadership, skill and compassion. Cindy, who resides in Clyde and has worked at NWCH for 30 years, is the first nurse leader at NWCH to receive this newly implemented award honoring nurse managers, supervisors, directors and senior leaders for their excellence.
Cindy received many nominations for the Daisy Leadership Award, among them her daughter Tammy Fullerton wrote, “Cindy expends the same love, dedication and hard work into nursing as she does in motherhood. She is always there for everyone in her life, putting others before herself.
In addition to being the nurse leader on the OB floor, she is a SANE nurse on-call for victims of sexual assault. Both positions demand a nurse who is dedicated, hardworking but also nurturing. You can see the love in all she does at work and in her personal life.”
The DAISY Leadership Award is a nation-wide program that rewards and celebrates how nurse leaders impact patient care by making a difference through their leadership, skill and compassion. Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and Rochester General Hospital are proud to be DAISY Leadership Award Hospital Partners.
