Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, DeMay Living Center and the Rochester Regional Medical Group hosted the 10th annual FREE community event, "Spring Fest" on Saturday, June 13th in tents on the grounds of the hospital (1200 Driving Park Avenue in Newark). The event, which focuses on making healthy lifestyle choices, is also made possible through the efforts of the Newark-Wayne Medical Staff, Newark Elementary Schools and their PTAs, the Newark Police Department, Big Dog Country Radio and others.

The FREE bike helmet fitting and give-away**, sponsored by the Newark-Wayne Medical Staff, was again held to help protect kids from head injuries. Also, kids were encouraged to bring their bicycles for the Newark Police Department’s Bike Safety Rodeo and Wayne County Public Health held a car seat safety clinic (at the Women’s Center loop at the front of the hospital). The Newark Police Department also offered a FREE photo I.D. clinic for children. .
