The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on Wednesday of two Wayne County men following an investigation of illegal narcotics sales in the Village of Wolcott.
Members of the Special Investigation Unit and Road Patrol Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 5932 Jefferson Street in the Village of Wolcott.
Freddie Lee Williams Jr., a/k/a Copper, age 69, was suspected of possessing the narcotic drug, cocaine, with the intent to sell. Williams was charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B felony.
Also at the Jefferson Street location police found Christopher J. Herring, age 57, of 5263 State Route 414 in North Rose. Herring was found in possession of over a half of an ounce of Oxycodone prescription pills. He was subsequently charged with two counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, both class B felonies.
Both men were arraigned in the Village of Wolcott in front of Justice Scott Stone. Williams, who is currently on Wayne County Probation Supervision for a plea to a past Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 5th Degree, intent to sell a narcotic drug, was remanded to the Wayne County Jail pending the posting of $15,000 cash bail/$30,000 bond.
Herring was remanded to the Wayne County Jail pending the posting of $2,500 cash/$5,000 bond. Both men are to scheduled to reappear in the Village of Wolcott Court on a later date.
