State Troopers out of Lyons responded to a two vehicle head-on crash on Route 31 in front of K&D Disposal in Palmyra at 8:48 p.m. on Friday (12/21).
A vehicle operated by Jody M. Scanlon, age 43, of Atwater Street in Port Gibson was westbound and crossed over into the eastbound lane striking another vehicle.
The occupants of the eastbound vehicle were transported to Strong Hospital with minor injuries, treated and released.
Scanlon told police she had been drinking at Tommy’s Bar on Murray Street in Newark and was on her way home when the accident occurred. She was subsequently arrested for numerous vehicle and traffic violations along with DWI/BAC and Aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol level of .22%.
Both vehicles received heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Scanlon was issued appearance tickets for Palmyra Town Court for January 8, 2019 and released to a third party.
