State Troopers out of Lyons responded to a report of an armed robbery in Lyons on Wednesday at in the rear portion of the McDonald’s Parking lot in Lyons.
According to police, the marijuana deal led to Lorenzo R. Carithers, age 26, of 152 Canal Street in Lyons using a loaded 9mm “ghost gun” to rob a victim.
Carithers was charged with Robbery 1st Degree (B felony), Criminal Possession of A Weapon 2nd Degree (C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (B Felony), and Criminal Possession of A Weapon 4th Degree (ghost gun – A misdemeanor.
It is alleged that in addition to the pistol, Carithers also possessed two baggies containing a substance that field tested positive for the presence of cocaine.
His accomplices, Patience L. LaRock, age 23, currently reported as homeless, and Tramija M. Streeter, age 28, of 345 Union Street in Newark, were also charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
All three of the subjects were in a black Cadillac sedan, owned and operated by Streeter, which fled when responding Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle n Shuler Street in Lyons. Streeter was taken into custody without incident.
Carithers and LaRock jumped out and began to run in different directions.
Carithers exited the car on foot and was pursued by Troopers and Investigators who took him into custody in a yard on Elmer Street after using a taser to subdue him.
LaRock was located in the area of Geneva Street as well on foot and taken into custody without further incident.
All were processed at the State Police barracks in Lyons and delivered to the Wayne County Jail for CAP Court.
Carithers was remanded to the Wayne County Jail pending his court appearance.
Streeter and LaRock were released on pre-trail services.
