Taken into custody was Billy Wells, age 30, of 62 Adams Street in the Village of Newark.

Wells was subsequently arrested for Criminal Mischief in the Third degree; Destroying Physical Evidence, Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the Second Degree; Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the Third Degree; two counts of Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer; Resisting Arrest; and Criminal Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.

Troopers stopped along the chase route and recovered a total of 9.5 ounces of marijuana.
