The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reported the arrest on Saturday (4/21) at 5:18 p.m. of a Sodus Point man for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.
Alec W. Trine, age 21, of Macy Street was arrested following a larceny investigation at The Steger Haus Restaurant in Sodus.
It is alleged that Trine, a former employee, stole a large amount of cash from the business. Deputies located Trine a short time later in the parking lot of Camp Beechwood where he was found to be in possession of the money in question.
Trine was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of Sodus Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000.
Following the arraignment, Mr. Trine was directed to get into the patrol car when he became irate and failed to comply. He took off running through the parking lot and was quickly apprehended.
Trine was additionally charged with Escape in the Third Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.
Trine will appear in the Sodus Town Court at a later date and time to answer the charges.
