In a case that has stretched out for over a year, the last of the defendants in the Rape case involving a 15 year-old girl has come to a close.
It began when Jarvis Streeter started to have sexual relations with a stepdaughter beginning when she was only 11 years-old. She was 15 years old when she admitted to another adult about the ongoing sex.
Streeter was found guilty in a jury trail over a four day period Rape 1st, Sexual Abuse 1st, Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Following an investigation, it was learned that Streeter introduced the young girl to crack cocaine, eventually trading her off to four other men after getting her high, in exchange for more crack cocaine.
Three of the four men agreed to reduced sentences for testifying against Streeter. Shane Bohrer, age 25, of Lyons, Robbin Knight-Collins, age 28, of Lyons and Eddie Murphy, age 34, of Lyons pled guilty to misdemeanor crimes in the case. The fourth man who refused to testify, Clifton Hunt, age 48, of Lyons refused to testify in the case and was subsequently charged with Rape in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
After two hours of deliberation, in a trail where the 15 year-old girl was forced to testify, Hunt was found guilty. He will be sentenced on December 20th in County Court. The District Attorney’s Office is seeking to have Hunt sentenced as a persistent, predicate felon. “We are pleased with the verdict and look forward to the sentencing,” said presiding Assistant District Attorney Jacqueline McCormick.
