The Wayne County Narcotics Enforcement Team, WayneNET, along with the Newark Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, announced the arrest of David V. Spencer, age 24, of 262 Louis Ave in Floral Park, New York City area on Friday (11/18) at 9:24 a.m. The arrest followed a two month long investigation into the sales of heroin in the Village of Newark area.
According to police Spencer (aka ‘Dizzy’) came to the area several months ago with a colleague to work in the lucrative drug trade. He reportedly hooked up with a girl in Newark and used her residence on Colton Avenue to conduct his business, serving an extensive customer base.
As a result of the investigation, members of the Newark, and Macedon Police Departments, along with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office members to include the Emergency Response Team, served a search warrant at 510 Colton Avenue in the Village of Newark.
Spencer was located at the residence, along with the other man from the New York City area. Spencer had tried to toss two 7 gram bags of bulk heroin out a back window, only to have the drugs end up stuck on the roof below.
Spencer took all the credit for the drugs and was subsequently charged with the Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
Spencer, who claimed he was a member of the ‘Bloods’ gang in New York City, was brought in front of the Village of Newark Justice Court for arraignment and subsequently remanded to the Wayne County Jail with a cash bail of $20,000/$40,000 bond, to reappear in the Village of Newark Justice Court on a later date.
