The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest on Thursday (9/17)  at 10:50 a.m. of Corinne J. Speights, age 28, of 334 Cortland Drive in the Town of Ontario for a total of 144 counts of Animal Cruelty – Failure to Provide Sustenance/Food or Drink and following the investigation of an animal cruelty complaint.

It is alleged that, over a period of eighteen days, Speights abandoned and deprived four cats of necessary sustenance by confining/sheltering them in an unsanitary environment and did not provide them food or drink.  

Police executed a search warrant at her property and seized three of the four cats.  It was found that the inside of the residence was covered in trash, cat and dog feces/urine.  The cats were turned over to the Humane Society of Wayne County.

Speights was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Ontario Court and will appear October 27th, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
