The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest on Sunday (9/25) at 2:01 a.m. of Eric M. Gallivan, age 40, of Hamilton Street Extension in Williamson, following a traffic stop in the Town of Marion.

Gallivan led sheriff deputies on a vehicle pursuit through a residential area in the Town of Marion after deputies attempted to stop him on Chaintree Drive for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Gallivan attempted to evade the sheriff deputies by driving though a bean field, but lost control of his vehicle causing the vehicle to flip onto its side.

Gallivan was taken into custody by the sheriff deputies shortly after crashing. Upon further investigation into the incident it was determined that Gallivan was intoxicated and did not possess a valid drivers license. Gallivan was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 1st Degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree. Gallivan was also issued numerous vehicle and traffic summonses, including the misdemeanor charges of Operating with a Suspended Registration and Reckless Driving.

Gallivan was arraigned before the Town of Palmyra Court in front of Judge Abbott and remanded to the Wayne County Jail with no bail.
