State Police out of Wolcott were flagged down by pedestrians on Sunday (5/28) at 11:24 p.m. after a driver hit a parked van and left the scene on Wickham Boulevard in Sodus Point. The pedestrians gave police a description and license plate.

The driver, Michael R. Golden, age 62, of 7365 Halcus Road in Sodus was subsequently arrested for Felony DWI, Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Failure to Obey a Police Officer and Failure to Keep Right.

Record show Golden has several prior DWI arrests/convictions, including one in the Town of Sodus in 2014. He was also convicted of misdemeanor DWI in 1998, Felony DWI in 1985 and another misdemeanor in 1976. He was arraigned in Sodus Court and remanded to jail on No Bail to appear back in Sodus Court.
