State Police out of Wolcott reported that on Sunday (3/5) a man walked up to a patrol car in Sodus and told them he had an aggressive/injured dog he wanted them to take.
The trooper discovered the female pit bull had a severe infection on its rear left leg and was not at all aggressive. “He was rather sweet,” commented the trooper.
Animal Control was called and took the dog. The owner, Jason A. Brunton, age 35, of 502 Ridge Road in Sodus said the dog was injured several weeks before, but he could not afford to get the dog medical attention.
Brunton On Thursday (3/9) was charged with Animal Abuse (Torture/Injure Not Feed an Animal). He was released on an appearance ticket for Sodus Court on March 22nd.
The dog, named ‘Remy’ was taken to the veterinarian and was treated and given antibiotics for the bite wounds and infection, along with treatment for tapeworms.
