The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest on Sunday (9/15) at 11:P28 p.m. of Orlanda Diaz-Garcia, age 19, of Spring Street in Sodus, following the investigation of a two-car personal injury motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Ridge Road and Geneva Road in the Town of Sodus
During the investigation of the collision it was determined that the operator of the at fault vehicle was operated by. Diaz- Garcia was headed North on Geneva Road and failed to stop at the stop sign at Ridge Road and went thru the intersection.
The operator of the second vehicle. Odinakachukwa Miller, age 31, of Rochester, was headed Westbound on Ridge Road and was unable to avoid a collision with the Northbound vehicle.
Miller sustained head, neck and leg injuries from the crash. The vehicle operated by Diaz-Garcia also had a passenger who was injured during the collision, Diego Angele-Castro, age 32, of Geneva who was the front seat passenger. He sustained injuries to his right arm and shoulder.
Both Miller and Angele-Castro were transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
During the investigation it was found that Diaz-Garcia was intoxicated. She was brought to the Sheriff’s Office for processing after failing field sobriety tests. A breath sample was secured and she was found to have a .16% BAC.
Diaz-Garcia was charged with Driving while intoxicated, Driving while having a BAC of greater than .08%, Unlicensed Operator, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Stop at Stop Sign.
Diaz-Garcia was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where she was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets and released. She will appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date and time for arraignment.
