On Saturday (2/25), State Police in Lyons arrested Dwayne L. Woolfolk, age 30, of 132 Gates Street in Palmyra, for Assault on a Police Officer, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, Harassment in the Second Degree and Disorderly Conduct.

Troopers, Sheriff’s Deputies and Newark Police had responded to the ArrowMart Store at 150 North Main Street in Newark at around 2:37 a.m. for a large disturbance. During the on scene investigation, Woolfolk punched another male in the back of the head and attempted to run away.

Woolfolk was caught by a Trooper and resisted arrest. During the struggle, the Trooper sustained a serious injury to his left hand.
The Trooper was transported to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital where he was treated and released.

Woolfolk was arraigned in the Village of Newark Court in front of Village Justice William Schusler and committed to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond and is scheduled to return to the Village of Newark Court on 03/01.
