The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reported the arrest on Thursday (12/13) of Kimberly A. Rogers, age 38, currently held in the Wayne County Jail pending her transfer to New York State Department of Corrections.
Kimberly Rogers was convicted of a felony drug related crime on December 13, 2018 and was taken into custody during that court proceeding at the Wayne County Court in Lyons, New York. Rogers was processed through Wayne County Jail Booking when she was found to be in possession of several prescription pills. Rogers was searched again, and placed in an individual cell within the jail facility.
A short time later, on December 13, Correction Officers found Rogers in possession of several small bags of suspected fentanyl and tobacco chewing pouches. During another search of her person, Rogers was able to swallow 16 of the small zip-lock bags. Rogers was brought to the hospital for observations and during this time frame, Rogers regurgitated what was swallowed and that was secured by the Corrections Officers.
Rogers is charged with 2-counts of the Class D Felony, Promoting Prison Contraband, and 1-count of the Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. Rogers was brought before the Town of Lyons Criminal Court for arraignment and is to appear at another court date to answer to the charges.
