Newark Police reported the arrest on Wednesday (6/29) of Shawniqua Barber, age 24, of 3058 Shepard Road in Williamson on a warrant for Petit Larceny, Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Grand larceny in the 4th Degree.
It is alleged that on June 2nd, Barber, along with a black male, entered the Newark Garden Hotel through a north west door and entered the conference room.
Surveillance video shows Barber piling a suitcase, 5 passports, umbrellas, bags with clothes and assorted paperwork by a door, then taking them out the door.
The five passports were found in a dumpster at the Budget Inn in the Town of Ontario. The manager of that facility identified Barber as staying at the Ontario Inn. She was not in her room at the time and police later discovered she was renewing her Department of Social Services benefits at the time.
Barber was turned over to Newark Police who also had a warrant for her for a theft of two bottles of Remy Martin Liquor valued at $45.99 from the Newark Discount Liquor Store on South Main Street in Newark on June 10th.
Barber was arraigned and remanded to jail on $1000 cash/$2000 bond to reappear in Newark Village Court on July 5th
