Ontario Town Board meeting October 13, 2020

 A regular meeting of the Ontario Town Board was called to order by Supervisor Frank Robusto at 7:00 p.m. in the Adult Activity Center at Casey Park.

Comments from the Public – General comments were received regarding the tentative budget not on the town’s website, will there be public dialogue on the budget and the schedule for the sewer/water rate increases.

Approval of Minutes - approved the minutes as presented. 5 Ayes 0 Nays MOTION CARRIED 

Department Head Reports – Accepted and filed:

Town Clerk, Library, Code Enforcement Officer, Water, Watershed, Director of Recreation & Parks, and Economic Development Department

New Business – 

The board authorized the Supervisor to sign the contract for Snow and Ice Control on County Roads from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021 at $1,409.09 per trip as presented. 

The board authorized the Supervisor to sign the Contract for salting and sanding for the Wayne Central School System for the 2020-2021 snow removal season for an amount of $4,000 as presented.

Reports by Town Board Members – Mr. TeWinkle stated the water tower looks great and is a big improvement.

Mr. Catalano gave an update on his take on COVID-19. He gave an update on the County Planning Board meeting last month. He also received a concern for smoking at Town Hall not being 25 feet from the building. He gave it to the Supervisor as he is in charge of day-to-day operations.

Mr. Kelsch stated the web-site is done, training has been completed and the tentative launch date is the week of October 26th.

The first project with Paychex starts Thursday with the employee handbook. It will be on the website when complete.

-Approval of Claims - A motion was made by Mr. TeWinkle, seconded by Mr. Eaton, to approve the abstract of claims for October 13, 2020 including vouchers #2267 through #2439 (2267, 2290, 2328-2332, 2366-2371, 2380 used by the Business Office) with a grand total of $232,558.64 and to authorize the Supervisor to issue payments for same. Mr. Catalano abstains from voucher #2296. 5 Ayes 0 Nays MOTION CARRIED

-Executive Session - A motion was made by Mr. Eaton, seconded by Mr. Catalano, to move into an executive session at 7:54 p.m. for

contract negotiations. The meeting was adjourn at 8:58 p.m. 5 Ayes
