A special meeting of the Sodus Town Board was called to order and intended to focus on the Town Budget for 2021.
After previous workgroup sessions, the Draft Budget still has an unmet gap of nearly $10,000. This is due in part to the fact that the Regional Water Project was not initially calculated into expenses.
Supervisor Scott Johnson urged the Board Members to “sharpen their pencils” as they will need to comb over the budget and look for places to make cuts. There was brief discussion of possible options including moving dollars from the General Fund with hopeful intentions to return those dollars as some projected operating expenses may be lower due to limitations from COVID-19 protocols.
Overall, the Board Members seemed hopeful that the gap could be closed. The Board then went into an Executive Session to discuss litigation with a particular organization.
