Most of us waited up until the early morning hours for results nationwide, but in Wayne County, Unofficial election results were in by 11 pm.
The Board of Elections has offered a very telling story with the total number of voters and how many of each voted.
Of the 59,933 total number of eligible voters in Wayne County, 41,262 (69%) used their right to vote.
Not surprising for a County that is predominately Red, 46% of the vote can from Republicans. A breakdown of the party voting (Early Voting and on Election Day) show:
19,030 Republicans voted
1.284 Independents voted
1.254 Conservative voted
9,282 Democrats voted
9,908 No party affiliation voted
and the remaining affiliated parties numbered 504.
Early voting numbers were 11,071 at the two polling places used for that purpose.
Mindy Robinson, Republican Commisioner for Wayne County also reported that roughly 650 Affidavits are yet to be reviewed and about 100 absentee ballots. There were several close races in Town and Village voting, and those numbers may make a difference. The Board of elections is anticipating that final official numbers will be available by Thanksgiving.
Voting outcomes in all races are listed below. (Winners indicated with a star)
