An “American Patriot Remembrance” ceremony was held by the New York State Elks Association of Western Central District, on Sunday, August 8th. The event held in Seneca Falls, NY honored veterans from WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam wars,
With music and words, veterans were honored, and each received a wonderful remembrance medal with their name, and service affiliation, as well as a heartfelt salute to their service.
The program noted that “So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
Three veterans were honored from WWII, 3 from the Korean Conflict era, 69 from the Vietnam era and several other recipients from Cold war era.
Of the 87 honorees, 31 veterans were from Wayne County.

Participating were Elks Club members from Rochester Lodge #24, Ithaca Lodge #636, Lyons Lodge #869, Seneca Falls Lodge #992, Newark Lodge #1249, Penn Yan Lodge #1722, Wolcott Lodge #1763, Canandaigua Lodge #1844 and Webster-Fairport Lodge #2396.
