The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest on Monday (12/22) at 11:47 a.m. of Matthew J. Hagar, age 38, of 157 Layton Street in Lyons on a Grand Jury Indictment warrant.
The Wayne County Grand Jury on the 21st day of November issued a warrant charging Hagar with 12 counts sexual abuse of a child over a period of years until she became an adult. The charges handed down were as follows; Rape in the First Degree, Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Incest in the First Degree, Rape in the First Degree, Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Incest in the First Degree, Rape in the First Degree, Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Incest in the First Degree, Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, and Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child.
The investigation revealed that a female who was related to the Hagar has been raped and sexually abused for years. Hagar was on probation at the time of the alleged crimes for Criminal Sex Act in the 2nd degree of a victim less than 15 years of age, thus violating his probation as level 3 sex offender.
Hagar was arraigned in the Wayne County Court by Honorable Judge Williams, and was remanded to the Wayne County Jail with no bail on all charges.
