The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest on Thursday (1/30) at 12:45 p.m. of William Smith, age 54 of Wilsey Road in the Town of Savannah. Smith was taken into custody following an investigation into a domestic incident resulting in a juvenile child being hospitalized. The child was exposed to a controlled substance at the residence on Wilsey Road in the Town of Savannah.

It is alleged that sometime on the 29th of January, a minor child was exposed to a controlled substance resulting in the child being hospitalized.  

Following a search of the residence, controlled substances were located and the defendant was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

Smith was transported to the Wayne County Jail for CAP Court arraignment.
