The Macedon Police Department reported the arrest of two Town of Shortsville men, following multiple larceny investigations at the Macedon Lowe’s and Walmart stores in September and October of this year. 

On Thursday (10/31) of Logan T. French, age 23 of State Route 96 in Shortsville was arrested. His accomplice Shawn M. Stenglein, age 39, of Route 96 in Shortsville was arrested on Tuesday (11/12).

It is alleged that, on October 12, 2024, French, during two separate occasions, entered Walmart before leaving the location with merchandise without paying for it. He was charged with two counts of Petit Larceny and released on appearance tickets. 

Stenglein was subsequently charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and Conspiracy in the 5th Degree. It is alleged that, on September 18, 2024,  he conspired with French to steal $1482.81 in copper fittings, and, on October 5, 2024, he conspired with  French again to steal $1265.29 in copper fittings. The two subjects took the merchandise and left the store without rendering payment.

It is also alleged that on September 15, 2024, Stenglein entered the Macedon Walmart, having previously been banned from all Walmart stores, and proceeded to steal over $300 in merchandise. He was subsequently arrested for Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Petit Larceny. 

On October 12, 2024, in two separate incidents on the same day, Stenglein and French, following the Lowe’s larcenies entered the Macedon Walmart against the no trespass order, and, at around 3:00 p.m., proceeded to take $368.05 in merchandise without payment. At 7:13 p.m., Stenglein and French re-entered Walmart, and stole $287.78 in merchandise. 

As a result, Stenglein was arrested for two counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Petit Larceny and two counts of Conspiracy in the 5th Degree. 

Stenglein was processed at the Macedon Police Department and taken to the Wayne County Jail for CAP Court  arraignment and released. 

Both French and Stenglein will appear in Macedon Town Court
