ANCHORAGE: Elizabeth “Edie” Blair Hunter-Peacock, age 58, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at home of natural causes, in Anchorage, Alaska. Born Edith “Edie” Blair VanderPoel Fisher in Ventura, California, and grew up in Marion, New York. She attended Marion Central schools before completing her high school education at Jacksonville High School in Alabama. Her early interests included being a concert pianist, chorus, theater, and technology.
She is survived by her children; Amanda Grogg, Bryant Neal (Jessica), Chris Ferri, Taylor Karns, Regan Paige Grovenstein, and Daniel Eudy. She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Margaret of Monrovia, Maryland, and Cassandra Lynn Roberts (David) of Eva, Alabama; and her brothers, Donald Montgomery of Laredo, Texas, and Andrew Case of Eva, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Andrew Fisher of La Habra, California, her parents; Donald Harry Fisher and Frankie (Abernathy) Fisher of Eva, Alabama, and her three beloved Saint Bernard dogs. Edie’s love extended to her three beloved Saint Bernard dogs, who brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life.
After a private cremation, a brief celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, at the Union Grove Church and Cemetery (2495 County Road 45, Piedmont, AL 36272-3021), and will be followed by the burial of her ashes.
