NEWARK: James "Jim" Blankenberg, 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday February 2, 2025.

He was born in Sodus, NY to John and Nellie Blankenberg.  Jim worked and retired from NYS DOT. He was a vintage car enthusiast and a proud owner of a ‘57 Chevy. He enjoyed living the life of a camper in NY and North Carolina. He came from a large family consisting of 13 siblings. Jim will be sadly missed by his two loving sons, James (Barbara) Blankenberg, Jr and Jason (Melody) Blankenberg; 2 grandsons, Jimmy and Jordan as well as his great-grandchildren, Mason, Casey, Avree and Everett. Jim was also a father figure and Papa to many others.  Jim’s greatest joys in life were his family and spending all the time he could with all of them.  A celebration of life will be determined at a later time.
