Burnett, Suzanne Lynn

SHORTSVILLE: Sue Burnett, aged 67, of Shortsville, NY, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Sue was born on February 1, 1957, in Canandaigua, NY. She dedicated many years of her life to serving the Red Jacket Central Schools and the First Baptist Church of Manchester, where she built cherished relationships and was a valued member of both communities. Sue’s warmth and dedication left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Sue was known for her boundless kindness, deep love of family, and devotion to animals, especially dogs. Her gentle humor, selflessness, and unwavering support enriched the lives of those around her.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Bill Burnett; daughters Jen (Matt) Parsons and Whitney (Sean) Mejias; her mother, Peggy Beers; her sister, Sandy (Chris) Bott; her brother, Steve (Shellie) Beers; and mother in law, June Gage. Her grandchildren Lyra, Luca, Micah, and Madden-were her greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her best four legged friend, Missy. She was predeceased by her father, Jim Beers, whose memory she carried fondly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sue’s memory to Second Hand Dog Rescue at secondhanddogrescue.com. A lifelong animal lover, Sue found immense joy in the companionship of her dogs, who brought comfort and happiness to her life.

Calling hours will be held at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N Main St. Manchester, NY on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A memorial service celebrating Sue’s life will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Manchester, 54 S. Main Street, Manchester, NY.  

Sue will be remembered for her loving heart, steadfast devotion to her family and friends, and ability to brighten any room with her presence. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
