Colegrove, Margaret “Pudge” L. (Shoemaker)

SAVANNAH: Margaret Colegrove, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Rochester General Hospital.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. Burial will take place in Crusoe Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Kenneth, at the convenience of the family. "A  Celebration of her life will held April 18th, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the VFW, 26 Sodus St., Clyde, NY  

Margaret was born on April 22, 1937, in Savannah, the daughter of the late Louis and Gladys (Shoemaker) Bennett. She began her working life at Droma Dairy in Lyons, later worked at General Electric in Auburn, and ultimately retired from IEC in Newark.

She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and took great joy in hosting gatherings, where her kitchen was often filled with warmth, laughter, and shared memories. Margaret also loved snowmobiling, riding horses, and trying her luck with the lottery and scratch‑offs.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Dennis (Penny) and Donald (Wendy) Colegrove; her sisters Wenona Bennett, Shirley Pitzeruse, Sharon (Stephen) Lawrence, and Julia (James) Ball; her brothers Earnest “Sonny” (Kay) Bennett and Richard Bennett; seven grandchildren – Tonya Norcott, Chantel Robertson, Daniel (Michelle) Colegrove, Tonya Kemp, Michael (Amber) Colegrove, Tonya Bowen, and Cody Colegrove; thirteen great‑grandchildren; and five great‑great‑grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband Kenneth “Pudge,” she was predeceased by her son David, her sister Betty Roberts, and brothers‑in‑law Leonard Bennett and Joe Pitzeruse.
