SODUS CENTER: Thomas G. DeRoo, 69, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Tom’s Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at Pultneyville United Methodist Church, 7767 Hamilton Street, Williamson, NY 14589.

Thomas was born on Thursday, March 29, 1956, in Clifton Springs, New York, the son of Richard and Lorraine (Montondo) DeRoo. He spent his life in the Sodus/Williamson area and was a graduate of Williamson High School. In his spare time, Tom loved collecting—especially Coca-Cola memorabilia, rocks and minerals, and antiques. He also had a deep appreciation for nature, enjoying fishing and birdwatching. Tom loved all kinds of music, but he especially loved rock and roll. Above all, he cherished his family and grandchildren, and he dearly loved his cats. 

Thomas will be remembered by his wife of 47 years, Debra; mother, Lorraine DeRoo-Dawes; children, Jared (Niccalet) DeRoo and Sierra (James) DeRoo; grandchildren, Arianna, Jade and Kenny; siblings Barbara (Roger) DeRoo, Sandra (Larry) Lagree, and Sharon (Ken) Dzielak; brother-in-law, Greg Hackett; many nieces, nephews and close friends; and his 5 sweet girl kitties.

Thomas was predeceased by his father, Richard DeRoo; stepfather, Thomas Dawes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Patty Hackett; and brother-in-law, Charlie Hackett.
