Maggie Garrett, a beloved family matriarch and pillar of strength, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. She was predeceased by her son, William Garrett, and her four sisters: Ann Parker, Jamie “Jenny” Lee Rush, Elizabeth Parker Frazier, and Wilhelmina Livingston. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Fannie and Blease Williams of Wolcott. Maggie is survived by her five children: Mary Garrett of Rochester, NY; James “Bubba” Garrett of Sodus, NY; Jerry Garrett of Hollywood, FL; Nate Garrett of Wolcott, NY; and Brenda (Marvin) Singletary of Oswego, NY. She is also survived by her brother, Eddie Parker of Philadelphia, PA; her former daughter- in-law, Robin Thomas of Wolcott, NY; and a cherished host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fresenius Kidney Care, 305 West Shore Blvd, Newark, NY 14513. Burial will be private at North Wolcott Cemetery.
Maggie was a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her six children. Her enduring spirit and dedication were evident in everything she did. She was an avid gardener and cook, known for her generosity and the tough love she shared with those around her. Maggie worked at Cahoon Farms and Fowler Farms during the late seventies and early eighties, contributing to her community with her strong
work ethic. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was profound and unwavering. Maggie’s legacy of strength, hard work, and love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
