/ by WayneTimes.com

John H. Greenlee went home to be with our Lord and Savior on 10/11/24. John was born 7/14/39 in Seneca Falls, NY, the only child of the late John & Iva Greenlee. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vivian Doreen (Taylor) Greenlee, a son, Kevin Greenlee of Newark, NY, a daughter, Karen (Charles) Greenlee Broersma of Farmington, NY, three granddaughters, Rachael Broersma Skeldon of Fairport, NY, Olivia (Chris) Casella of Henrietta, NY, Leah (Chris) Gray of Fairport, NY, and two great-grandchildren Evangeline & Ariel Skeldon of Fairport, NY. John was a resident for over 55 years of Newark, NY, where he and Vivian shared their home. John & Vivian were long-standing members of the First United Methodist Church in Newark. For the past year, they lived at Village Heights Sr. Apartments in Fairport. John loved his family and his favorite hobby was spending time with his wife, Vivian. John was a 1958 graduate of Mynderse Academy, he served in the USAF as a Maintenance Mechanic from 1958-1962, he served in the Newark Volunteer Fire Department for many years and retired as a Pipefitter from Garlock’s located in Palmyra, NY. In his younger years, John enjoyed archery, photography, camping, swimming across Cayuga Lake, and playing Euchre. He was an avid reader and especially loved military history. John loved telling stories to family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Calling hours will take place Saturday, 10/26/24, at the First United Methodist Church at 10a, located at 301 S. Main St., Newark, NY, followed by a Memorial Service at 11a. A post-service reception will follow at the church. There will be a private interment for family later that day at Union Hill Cemetery in Cato, NY. In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions be made to Shepherd Home located at 1959 Five-Mile Line Rd, Penfield, NY, where John was lovingly cared for prior to his passing. Condolences or memories may be shared at Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home in Cato.
