ONTARIO:  Phil passed away in the early morning of Monday, December 15, 2025, at his home, with his wife Ellen by his side.  Phil was born on Saturday, August 25, 1951 to the late Raymond and Elizabeth ‘Riker’ Haak.  He is survived by his wife Ellen, with whom he had been together with for 46 years, 36 of which they were married.  He is also survived by his siblings Eddie (Ellen) Haak, Patricia (Fred) Morton, Ann (David) Fladd, and Stephen (fiance Lynn Merkel); nephews, Brian, Thomas, Matthew, and David; Uncle Bob (Cheryl) Haak, many cousins, friends and extended family.

Phil was a lifelong resident of Ontario, NY, with his Riker family roots, in the area, dating back to 1846. Phil was a graduate of Wayne Central and attended SUNY Morrisville where he obtained his degree in horticulture.  He loved farming, driving his tractor, and tending to his flower gardens.  Phil loved his pet donkeys.  He was a longtime employee, and retiree, of the Rochester Products Division (later the Delphi Corporation) of General Motors.  In 1978, he purchased a new 25th anniversary edition Corvette.  Ellen shared that the vehicle is still owned by them, there are fond memories, and the car certainly is a symbol of the legacy they established together over the years.
