Betty devoted her time and life to her hometown of Sodus, NY. Married Roger Gent in 1951, had two wonderful children Peggy and Rick. In the late 1960’s met her current husband Harry. In 1974, they took a chance to buy her Uncle Brownie’s tavern. It would then become an icon in the Village of Sodus known as Jug’s Tavern. The tavern was the love of Betty’s life, she enjoyed that it was a hometown family tavern, where residents of Sodus could bring their families to enjoy their home cooked food and drinks. She loved playing shuffleboard with her grandchildren. Betty’s second love was her collection of Elvis Presley. To keep Betty’s memory alive next time you see karaoke grab a microphone and sing that Elvis Presley or Dean Martin song.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later time in the Spring of 2026. Memorials may be made to the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation, 1529 Nye Road, Lyons, NY 14489 to the Memory Care Unit in-honor tribute to Betty Lou Husner.
