July 8, 1937 – October 16, 2024

WILLIAMSON: Melvin Roy Hussey, 87, passed away on October 16, 2024 in his sleep at the Wayne County Nursing Home.  He was born and raised in Vermont to parents Roy Leslie Hussey and Flora (Guinard) Hussey.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Hussey, his son Mike, his daughter Michelle, and his sister Sheila Goddette.

After graduating High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he was a crew chief on the KC-97 Refueler Aircraft, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was a member of the New York State Free and Accepted Masons for just shy of 30 years.  His journey began in January 1995 at the Drumlin Square Lodge #1180 where he became a Master Mason.  He was Master of Eunice Lodge #830 from 2000-2003, Master of Phoenix Lodge #115 from 2010-2011 and a member of Wayne Lodge #416.  Subsequently he received the Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the Craft.

He was very active in and a big supporter of his local churches, holding various leadership positions through the years and sharing his musical talent on the Organ.  He was currently attending the North Ontario Methodist Church.

Mel loved watching wrestling, playing bridge and having his Delmonico Steaks twice a week.  He enjoyed rescuing Rottweilers including Eva, Buster and Molly.  Sandy admired his extreme intelligence, their loving relationship and was blessed that God brought them together for the last ten years.

A celebration of his life will be held at the North Ontario Methodist Church on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow immediately after in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations in loving memory of Mel to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP): www.woundedwarriorproject.org
