LYONS: Vernon F Jinks Jr, 71, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Vernon, better known as Frank, was born on Wednesday, March 11, 1953, in Beckley, WV, to the late Vernon and Gertrude (Hundley) Jinks. He spent his life in the area and attended Newark High School. Frank worked for many years as an auto mechanic, but his favorite role was being "Grandpy," where he loved tinkering and teaching his grandchildren new things. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Vernon will be remembered by his son, Vernon F Jinks III (Whitney M Jinks); grandchildren Vernon F Jinks IV, Shyanne and Connor Pilozzi; his brother, Edward Henry Jinks Sr and a nephew, Edward Henry Jinks Jr.; as well as lifelong friend Debbie Jinks; and his beloved grand-dog Lily.

The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., located at 124 W. Miller St, Newark. All are invited to attend Vernon’s graveside service at Newark Cemetery following the visitation.
