MACEDON CENTER: Jerry Joseph Johnson, 83, of Macedon Center, NY passed away peacefully at home on January 15th, 2025, after spending the day surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Joseph Johnson; sister, Yvette (Dave) DePuyt; brothers, Leo, Al, and Raymond Johnson; sisters-in-law, Mayola Johnson and Laura (Keith) Wagner; and brothers-in-law, Gene Kunzer and Arnie Stevens.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sharon; children, Julie (David) Roemer, Scott Johnson, and Eric (Lynn) Johnson; grandchildren, Justin (Lisa) Roemer, Ashley Baker, Tim Johnson, Mariah (Courtney) Ameele, and Erika Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kolsten and Ayla Baker (and their dad, Luke Baker), Kinley and Jaimeson Roemer, and Maverick Ameele; siblings, Robert Johnson, Rita (Walter) Dorofy, Doris (Robert) Hapke, Nancy (Fran) Ridley, Dinah Stevens, and Betty (Robert) Reinholtz; Brother-in-law Steve Lada; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kunzer, Brenda (Joe) Guarno, Toni (Doug) Roemer, Eleanore Johnson, and Jane Johnson; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and Anytime Fitness friends.
Jerry and his wife, Sharon, built their family and life together in Walworth, NY. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. To know him was to love him. He was kind, gentle, passionate, and strong-hearted. Jerry spent most of his days visiting with family, friends, drinking Maxwell house coffee, hosting poker games, and playing with his great-grandchildren who adored their Papa Jerr.
Friends and family may attend Jerry’s calling hours on Monday, January 20th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502. Jerry’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21st at 12:00 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502, with a graveside service following at Macedon Village Cemetery, 28 Erie Street South, Macedon NY 14502.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
