SODUS POINT: Bill “Whip” Kallusch, 92, of Sodus Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Sodus Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 15, 1933, in Sodus, he was the son of the late William C. and Dorothea J. (Lee) Kallusch. Bill graduated from Sodus Central School and proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1952 to 1956. Following his service, he dedicated 40 years to owning and operating Bill Kallusch Boat Yard in Sodus Point, where his craftsmanship and love of the water became a cornerstone of the community.
Bill’s passions included boating, snowmobiling, attending car and boat shows, and the thrill of car racing. His zest for life and adventurous spirit were evident to all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons: William (Shari), Todd, and Terry (Cassie); grandchildren Karin (Ricky) Virk and Kristopher (Kadence) Kallusch; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Kallusch.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, with details to be announced at a later date.
