PALMYRA: Nancy Lewis-Bardo, 71 passed away peacefully at her home on Friday January 24,2 025 after a valiant fight against breast cancer.
Born in Rochester New York, she made Palmyra her home.
She was predeceased by husband Walter Bardo, parents Blake and Dorothy Smith, daughter Cynthia Lewis and sister Sharon Smith.
She is survived by son Steven Lewis; siblings Bruce Smith and Sandy Smith; step children Karen (Pete) Parker, Kim Bardo, Kathleen Giles, and Kenneth Bardo; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; and bestest friends Ruby Farmer and Evonne Young.
Nancy’s passions were riding motorcycles, camping, visiting with family and friends, crocheting, cookouts and road trips ~ to “wherever the mood took her.”
An avid and talented crocheter, she was always found with hooks and yarns within easy reach. When relaxing at home, she would have her projects at hand, her game shows or Hallmark movies, and was in one of her happy places.
Nancy loved watching all of ‘her’ birds as they came to eat from the numerous bird feeders and it wasn’t at all unusual to hear her say, “Look at those DAMN SQUIRRELS out there!.”
Her smile and laugh were contagious and was always welcoming with a cheerful greeting and a hug.
Nancy was retired from Retail work and was a former Senior Regent Officer at Moose Lodge 1420 in Palmyra New York, which she remained active with.
Per her wishes, there will be no public services. Interment will be private.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025 at the Palmyra Moose Lodge from 11am-2pm. Please bring a dish to pass. We would like to do a cake wheel to help raise funds for her’s and Walt’s headstone.
