Sodus/Williamson, NY: Rose M. Malchoff 92, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at Clifton Springs Nursing Home, Clifton Springs, NY.
She was born May 29, 1934, graduated in 1952 from North Rose Central School and was married to Donald H. Malchoff in 1953. She and her husband lived in East Rochester, NY until moving to Sodus, NY where they raised their six children. Rose worked at Myers Community Hospital, initially as a nurse’s aide and later as a LPN after earning her degree in 1972. She retired in 1992. She later moved to Whispering Woods in Williamson, NY where she enjoyed many years tending her flowers, shrubs, vegetables and orchids, much like she lovingly cared for her patients while working at Myers. She enjoyed watching the birds that came to her feeders and was especially pleased when the first Baltimore Orioles arrived. Other past times included antiquing, garage sales and collecting hats, purses and teapots but most important to her was her family. She loved their visits. The candy jar was always full at her house and Christmas was never without her cookies and pizzelles. Rose was a faithful congregant of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sodus enjoying fellowship and ministry opportunities for many years.
Predeceased by her husband, Donald H. Malchoff Sr., son, Donald H. Malchoff, Jr., son-in-law, Charles Kush and siblings Ann Neitz, Charles Miraglia, and Al Miraglia.
She is survived by her sons, William, Edwin (Dolores) and Mark (Nancy) all of Sodus, NY, daughters, Diane Kush of Indian Trail, NC and Nancy (Todd) Wood, of Williamson, NY, her siblings, Jennie Goulette, Josephine Brusso, Greg (Betty) Miraglia, and Kay (Vic) Draz, 19 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday September 3rd, 4:00 PM-6:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following at Young Funeral Home, 4025 Ridge Rd. Williamson, NY.
A private interment will take place at Rose Cemetery on September 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose may be made to a charity of your choice.
