/ by WayneTimes.com

Patricia Ann Moon (Rabideau), age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at RRH Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Pat was born at home in Norwood NY on September 10, 1940.  She was predeceased by her husband Paul Moon and her grandson Matthew Hall.

Pat was a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a wonderful fun friend. She was known for her generous spirit—always giving of herself, caring for others, and making everyone feel welcome. An avid gardener, she found joy in tending to her flowers, and her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of something delicious in the oven. An extraordinary cook and accomplished baker, Pat was famous for her breads, scones, soups, and countless other treats—no one ever left her home empty-handed.

Pat possessed a sharp sense of humor and a playful personality that could brighten any moment. She loved the outdoors and had a natural connection with animals—horses, cats, dogs, chickens, and she even fostered some baby raccoons. Skilled and self-reliant, she knew how to hunt and could even field dress a deer. She enjoyed fishing, bird-watching, and simply being in nature. Everyone who knew Pat loved her, and she loved them all “to the moon and back—and more.”

Pat was also a devoted Jehovah’s Witness. She deeply valued Bible principles and held a steadfast faith in the promise of the Real Life that is “Just Around the Corner”. Her baptism on September 24, 1988 marked a turning point in her life, strengthening her hope in a future paradise on earth. The congregation of the Kingdom Hall became an extension of her family, offering her comfort, purpose, and community. Through her ministry, Pat touched countless lives and formed friendships throughout the region.

Pat is survived by her daughters: JoAnn Reinhardt (Martin), Jane Rabideau (James Farley), Peggy Sue Hall (Chuck);  8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild.
