WILLIAMSON-GRAHAM NC: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Esther Mary Plyter, who left us peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 84.

Esther is survived by her husband, Darrell E. Plyter, who lovingly called her Essie Mae. The treasured mother of Mark (Melissa) Plyter, Marnie (Matthew) Robel, Michael (Teri) Plyter. Adored grandmother of Nicole (Christopher) Kimber, Jacob Plyter, Joshua (Katie) Plyter, Anthony Plyter, Rebecca (Clayton) Young, Lauren Robel, Mallory Robel, and Jessa Robel. Loving great grandmother of Hailey, Harlee, Hadlie, Kinley, Kennedy, Madigan, Henry, and Lewis. She leaves behind her brother, Ronald VanAcker and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born October 30, 1940, in Sodus, NY to the late Henry and Delia (Fox) VanAcker, Esther lived a full life of dedication and devotion to many pursuits including faith, family, and career and was known for her love of any type of social, community or church gathering. Married to her high school sweetheart in June of 1962, Esther lived in Williamson with her husband and later moved to Graham NC in 2016 after many years of being snowbirds.

Esther enjoyed years of singing in the church choir, tending to her flower gardens, and baking desserts. Her commitment to her faith and church community was woven into the very fabric of her being. Esther touched many lives through her secretarial work at Williamson Central School and the Town of Williamson. Later, she had the pleasure of serving the Williamson community as Town Clerk.

We will miss Esther dearly, but know she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is now at peace. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A service for Esther will be at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2250 Saddle Club Rd, Burlington NC 27215
