WALWORTH: Janet Pugsley, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the St. John’s Penfield Green House Homes.  She was born to the late Carl and Doris Johncox on Wednesday, March 29, 1933. She is predeceased by her loving husband, of 58 years, Lloyd, and granddaughter Brittany "Drexler" Dippel; brothers Larry, Rodney and Lynn Johncox.  She is survived by her daughters Valerie (Bill) Drexler, Jill (Keith) Kramer, and Cheryl (Mark) Kramer; grandchildren, Jenelle (Casey) Drexler, Joshua (Courtney) Drexler and Christine Kramer; great grandchildren, Graham and Raegan Dippel and Adrianna and Layla Drexler; sisters, Barbara Popenhusen, Priscilla (Patsy) Muller, Jennifer (Terry) Bertou and brother Robert Johncox.

Janet went to school in Fairport but graduated from Wayne Central High School. She would take dad’s Mercury to school, race all the boys, and win.  She married her husband, Lloyd Pugsley, on October 3, 1953. Janet worked as a secretary and then at Wayne Central in the cafeteria. Janet’s passion was being an antique dealer. She started her own antique mall, Jan’s Early Attic, in 1987. She loved antiquing and meeting new people in her shop. She, and Lloyd, enjoyed many years of RV travel all over the United States and twice in Alaska. Janet also served in Rotary with her husband.

The family would like to thank all the Green House staff for their love, compassion, and care for mom.  Janet had a great sense of humor and enjoyed many laughs with the staff. A special "thank you" to Dr. Pine, Shannon, Polly and Ashok.

Janet will be laid to rest with her husband in a private graveside ceremony.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation, in Janet’s name, to St. John’s Foundation Green Houses, (note: whether mailing, or using the link, please mention that donations go to the Green Houses in memory of Janet) 150 Highland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.  Please visit Janet’s tribute wall at www.murphyfuneralservices.com to leave a condolence.
