LYONS: Karl L. Rathburn Jr., 54 passed away Friday, January 31, 2025. Karl was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 31, 1970. He graduated from Clyde-Savannah High School in 1989. Karl worked at the P&C grocery store in Clyde for many years, following that he worked at Losen’s grocery store in Lyons until their closure, the Kwik Fill in Lyons and at Spinco Metal Products in Newark up until his illness. Karl is survived by his loving parents, Karl Rathburn Sr. and Bonnie (Robinson) Rathburn. His siblings, Jennifer (Rathburn) Pierson, Sonia (Ron) Vaughn, John (Steve) Borzymowski, Cindy Estes and many nieces and nephews. Karl’s constant companions were his beloved cats, Bonnie and Clyde. He is also survived by a small circle of very dear friends, Andy Fuller, Brian Kaveny, and Chris (Kerry) VanAuken. Karl enjoyed fishing, music and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. Karl will be remembered as a loving son, brother and friend. He will be missed by many and his memory will never fade. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wayne County Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice.
