ONTARIO: Passed away, unexpectedly, on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Dave was born on Tuesday, October 27, 1942 to the late Fred and Ruth "Taphorn" Rauen.  His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy; predeceased by his brother Fred, and his son William. Survived by children, Irene Cheney, Phillip (Carrie), Harry (Heidi) Hilbert, Marge (Scott) Campbell, and Betsy Sippel (Greg LeVan); grandchildren, Justin (Allie), Kayleigh (Nick), Zack, Michael, Alyvia (Kyle), Tom, Jamie (Luke), Aly (Jordan), Nate (Leah), Tyler (KC), Harrison and Bentley; great grandchildren, Teddy, Lisa, Sage, Patrick, and Shelby; Sister Nancy Burnett as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dave was born in Covington, KY. He moved to New York after being hired by Xerox, where he spent 35 years, achieving many Patents, before retiring. He was a devoted father, and grandfather, and looked forward to spending time with family. Dave was supportive to the Town of Ontario.  Dave owned two of his own businesses, The Pioneer Pizzeria and his own tax preparer service. He was a founding member of the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad and was active for many years. Dave also enjoyed working with the Ontario Public Library having served as the board president as well as president for the Friends of the Ontario Public Library. When his kids were young, he volunteered as a baseball coach.
