MARION: Wesley W Sargent, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

The family will greet friends on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller Street, Newark. Wesley’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Creek Church, 3700 NY-31, Palmyra 14522.

Wesley was born on Saturday, September 16, 1939, in Sodus, New York, the son of the late Howard and Olive (Kiesinger) Sargent. He grew up in the Williamson area and attended Williamson High School. Wesley went on to work for more than 60 years as a heavy equipment operator. For the final 40 years of his career, he was employed by Swift’s Landscaping. He was an avid Elvis fan who loved hunting, Harley-Davidsons, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. He especially enjoyed teaching others new skills around the house and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Above all, Wesley treasured spending time with his family.

He will be remembered by his wife of forty seven years, Anita; his children William "Bill" (Nikki) Sargent, Kerri (DJ) Carlson, Kristi Sargent, Cindy Polisse-Sargent and Carl (Terri) Sargent; grandchildren, Zoey, Piper, Ashton, Noryana, Douglas, Declan, George (Ashley), Corey and Adriana; a great-grandson, Landon; a sister, Melva Dolan; several close brothers and sisters in law; and many nieces and nephews. 

Wesley was predeceased by his grandchildren, Casey Polisse and Peter Sargent; siblings Linda (Jack) Monahan, Sylvia (Stanley) Cole and Ashley "Sonny" (Ruth) Sargent.
