/ by WayneTimes.com

Newark - Jeanne entered into rest, Friday, March 27, 2026, in Lyons, NY.

Born Jeanne Marilyn Sibley on August 4, 1939, in Whitesboro, NY. The family later moved to Ovid, NY where she graduated in the class of 1956. Jeanne continued her studies at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, NY, where she trained to be an x-ray technician. Upon completion of her training, she was employed by F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  In 1959 she married John F. Morley of Canandaigua.  She left her position at the hospital and took a position with Sarah Coventry Jewelry in Newark, NY where she worked in the customer service/order entry department from 1960 until 1984 when the business closed it’s facilities. She then worked as a home health aide and a ward secretary at Clifton Springs Hospital until 1987, when she went to work for Seneca Foods Corporation in Marion, NY. After 20 years in the accounting department, she retired as assistant credit manager in 2007.

Jeanne enjoyed many interests throughout the years. In her youth she was an accomplished roller skater and continued that well into her adult years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed trying new crafts, word puzzles and new recipes. She always enjoyed a good game of rummy, playing Bingo at the senior center, and remained active by joining a bowling league, participating in local and state competitions. She stayed in touch with friends and family, visiting regularly over the years, but her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Erma (Young) Sibley; her brothers, Claude (Barbara) and Donald (Maxine); her sisters, Dorothy and Janet; her son-in-law, James Nevlezer; as well as several nieces and nephews and many dear friends whom she loved deeply.

Jeanne is survived by her brother, Paul Sibley; her children, Kim Nevlezer, Bruce Morley (Sharon Kier), and Robin Davis; her grandchildren, Megan Lauster, Danielle Lauster, and Thomas Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Noah DeHond, Isabella Lauster, and Magnus Davis. She is also survived by her nephews, Donald Sibley and Larry Sibley; her nieces, Debbie (David) Fox, Paula (Dennis) Cope, and Ada (Randy) Weeks; along with many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her lifelong friends, Agnes Higley, Marie Soliman, Sally Smith, and Eve George.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11am at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, 124 West Miller St, Newark, NY 14513. A reception will be held after the service at a location to be announced at the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14620 in Jeanne’s memory.
